The
Leslie Gallery is located within the new ArtYard Community of the Santa Fe Railyard. When the
city acquired this property in 1995 it was with the mandate
that development of the area benefit the community and
honor the history of the Railyard area.
The
ArtYard’s developers have rehabilitated this damaged urban
site and are shaping a dynamic, creative addition to the
community with their plans for a “green” series of live/work
buildings in the arts and cultural district

The
Leslie Gallery is housed in the first of these buildings, the
Parkside, at 703 Camino de la Famila, in unit 3107.
As the
name suggests the Parkside is adjacent to Santa Fe’s beautiful
new Railyard Park. In between is the pleasant Alameda, a broad walkway, that runs parallel to tracks
used by both the Railrunner commuter train and the vintage
Santa
Fe
Southern
scenic railway – key elements of the historic theme for this
area. |

Just down the Alameda in this vigorous urban community are the Santa Fe Farmer’s
Market, Warehouse 21 Teen Center and SITE Santa Fe. The wide bike
and pedestrian path leads to more galleries, performance spaces,
retail shops and restaurants not far from Santa Fe’s historic downtown
and Plaza.

Innovative local developers Wiv
Co and The Lofts LLC planned the ArtYard Parkside building to qualify for LEED Platinum certification. It will
be one of the first mixed-use buildings in New Mexico to reach such a
level of indoor air quality, high performance energy and water efficiency
and the use of sustainable and recycled materials.
The Leslie Gallery is proud to be a contributing member of this endeavor at conscientious, sustainable, high desert culture. We would also like to give special thanks to Don Wiviott, Mitch Davenport and the delightful crew of The Lofts who got us into our beautiful new space on schedule and with whom we have the pleasure of working each day: Grant Massari, Joe Michalak, Santos Rivera, Sergio Gutierrez, Raphael Leon, Juan Reyes and Nicholas Battista.
